Aston Villa face a tough trip to the North East in the Premier League<\/a> this weekend. They head to St. James\u2019 Park to take on Newcastle United<\/a> in what looks like a high-intensity clash. Unai Emery\u2019s men have to deal with the rowdy Tyneside atmosphere. At home, the Magpies usually start fast with plenty of aggression and energy.<\/p>\n

Getting a result will take massive focus. This is especially true since Villa are dealing with a thin squad due to several injuries. The visitors need to silence the home fans early.<\/p>\n

They can do that by keeping the ball and finding holes in Newcastle\u2019s defence. Villa still want to play their way despite the hostile environment. They know staying calm on the ball is the only way to leave one of the league\u2019s hardest stadiums with a result.<\/p>\n

Aston Villa Predicted Starting Lineup Against Newcastle United:<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Defence<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Keeping things tight at the back is Emery\u2019s main goal. That is tricky right now with his number-one goalkeeper facing a late fitness test. A nagging calf injury makes Emiliano Martinez a doubt. Marco Bizot is ready to step in goal again.<\/p>\n

The Dutchman will look to a familiar back four for help. Matty Cash and Ian Maatsen should start at full-back. Their job is to stop Newcastle\u2019s wingers while helping out on the counter-attack. In the middle, Ezri Konsa and Pau Torres will pair up in defence. They will need to be strong and smart to deal with the home side\u2019s crosses and long balls.<\/p>\n

Midfield<\/strong><\/h4>\n

In the centre of the park, the manager is short on options. Knee injuries have ruled out Boubacar Kamara, John McGinn, and Ross Barkley. That puts a lot of pressure on Youri Tielemans.<\/p>\n

The Belgian will run the game from deep and try to pick passes through the Newcastle press. Next to him, young Lamare Bogarde should keep his place in the middle. He brings the energy and discipline needed to break up Newcastle\u2019s play in the centre of the pitch.<\/p>\n

Even with the injuries, Villa have enough talent up front to hurt anyone. Ollie Watkins will lead the attack, trying to use his speed to get behind the Newcastle United defenders. Jadon Sancho will start on the right, bringing skill and directness, while Emiliano Buendia will work hard and create chances from the left. Playing just behind the striker, Morgan Rogers will try to connect the play and find pockets of space to set up the forwards.<\/p>\n
