Missing out on Jonas Omlin should frustrate Sunderland. The club spent valuable time on a deal that yielded nothing. R\u00e9gis Le Bris clearly wanted immediate reinforcement for the goalkeeping department. He targeted a 32-year-old Swiss international because he wanted reliability.<\/p>\n

He did not want another development project. Consequently, this failure leaves a glaring gap in experience. The season is now entering its most critical phase.
