In a recent episode of the Rest is Football podcast<\/a>, former Premier League striker Gary Lineker urged Arsenal to sign Atletico Madrid striker Julian Alvarez. Lineker said,<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s probably complete b******* as most of these things are on social media but I saw they were linked with Julian Alvarez who I know is not entirely happy with life at Atletico.<\/p>\n

\u201cNow that is the sort of player you know can handle the big occasion \u2013 he\u2019s a World Cup winner for crying out loud.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cSomeone like that at Arsenal would be game over.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cBut they do need one or two of these current forwards to start scoring on a reasonably regular basis.\u201d<\/p>\n

Alvarez\u2019s Impressive Form In La Liga<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Alvarez is having an impressive campaign at the Spanish club as he has produced a string of eye-catching displays for them in the final third. The 25-year-old has registered 11 goals and earned five assists in 29 appearances for Atletico Madrid this season across all competitions.<\/p>\n

The Argentine talent is among the best strikers in La Liga at the moment. Thus, it makes sense for Arsenal to try and get him on board this year.<\/p>\n

Will Alvarez Be A Good Choice For Arsenal Boss Mikel Arteta?<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Alvarez excels at finding some space for himself to get some strikes in at goal. He can be a decent finisher in the final third when he is playing with confidence on the field.<\/p>\n

The Argentine talent has got the vision to create some inviting chances for his teammates to find the back of the net and is a good dribbler with the ball at his feet. He is already quite familiar with the Premier League<\/a> from his time at Man City and won\u2019t take much time to settle into life at Arsenal<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Alvarez would add more bite and steel to Mikel Arteta\u2019s midfield. He is good enough to secure a regular first-team spot at the Emirates Stadium in the coming years.<\/p>\n

At 25, Alvarez has his peak years ahead of him, which makes him a solid option for the Gunners to consider this January or at the end of this season.
