Newcastle United faced off against Paris Saint-Germain earlier tonight as they hoped to secure a good result on the road in the UEFA Champions League. The Magpies made a slow start to the game and conceded the opener in the eighth minute when Vitinha found the back of the net for the home side. However, Joe Willock equalised for Eddie Howe\u2019s side in the dying embers of the first half. Both teams went into the half-time break with a 1-1 scoreline.<\/p>\n

The Tyneside club fought tooth and nail in the second half and managed to earn a hard-fought 1-1 draw away from home.<\/p>\n

Let\u2019s take a look at how each Newcastle United<\/a> player fared during the contest against Paris Saint-Germain.<\/p>\n

GK: Nick Pope \u2013 7.5\/10<\/strong><\/p>\n

Pope made his fair share of saves during the game and did enough to limit the home side to just one goal.<\/p>\n

CB: Malick Thiaw \u2013 6.5\/10<\/strong><\/p>\n

He performed his defensive duties well and was strong in the air.<\/p>\n

CB: Sven Botman \u2013 6.5\/10<\/strong><\/p>\n

Botman cleared the danger when he could and was tidy with his passing.<\/p>\n

CB: Dan Burn \u2013 7\/10<\/strong><\/p>\n

He didn\u2019t mind putting his foot through the ball when needed and managed to earn an assist.<\/p>\n

He worked hard for his team defensively, but lacked quality in the PSG half.<\/p>\n

CM: Jacob Ramsey \u2013 7\/10<\/strong><\/p>\n

Ramsey got stuck in with some solid tackles and made one good run with the ball.<\/p>\n

CM: Sandro Tonali \u2013 6.5\/10<\/strong><\/p>\n

He managed to catch the eye inside the opponent\u2019s half but was a bit wasteful with his passing.<\/p>\n

LW: Lewis Hall \u2013 7\/10<\/strong><\/p>\n

Hall performed his defensive duties well but failed to impress in the final third.<\/p>\n

RW: Anthony Elanga \u2013 6\/10<\/strong><\/p>\n

He was quiet for most of his time on the field.<\/p>\n

ST: Nick Woltemade \u2013 6\/10<\/strong><\/p>\n

Woltemade struggled to threaten the opponent\u2019s goal and was replaced in the 78th minute.<\/p>\n

LW: Joe Willock \u2013 8\/10<\/strong><\/p>\n

He made a few driving runs with the ball and managed to equalise for Newcastle in the latter stages of the first half.<\/p>\n

He added some pace to Howe\u2019s attack.<\/p>\n
