In a recent report<\/a>, journalist Wayne Veysey mentioned that Sunderland keeper Robin Roefs is on the radar of Manchester City. It is understood that the Mancunian club are locked in a three-way race with Liverpool and Chelsea in the race to land the Dutch custodian from the Black Cats this summer.<\/p>\n

Roefs\u2019 Impressive Form In The Premier League<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Roefs has enjoyed a decent campaign at the Stadium of Light as he has put in a string of impressive displays in the Premier League. The 23-year-old has conceded 27 goals and earned eight clean sheets in 25 matches for the Black Cats this season across all competitions.<\/p>\n

The Dutch talent is currently among the best young keepers in the Premier League. Thus, it is no surprise that so many top clubs such as Manchester City, Liverpool and Chelsea are hoping to sign him this summer.<\/p>\n

His current contract at the Wearside club will run out in the summer of 2030. Hence, the Black Cats are under no immediate pressure to cash in on him at the end of this campaign.<\/p>\n

Can Sunderland Boss Regis Le Bris Afford To Lose Roefs?<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Roefs can be a safe pair of hands in between the sticks when he is playing with confidence on the pitch. He is a solid handler of the ball and can use his quick reflexes to make some important saves at the back for his team.<\/p>\n

Standing at 1.93m, Roefs can use his strong frame to command his penalty area with authority and conviction. The German sensation is already quite familiar with the Premier League<\/a> and could prove himself to be a real asset in Regis Le Bris\u2019 squad in the coming years.<\/p>\n

When fit, Roefs is currently among the first names in Sunderland<\/a>\u2018s teamsheet. Hence, the Black Cats cannot afford to lose a player of his quality and skill set this summer.<\/p>\n

At 23, the Dutch keeper has got the ceiling to be a world-class player in his position someday. Therefore, Le Bris would be wise to try everything in his power to keep hold of his services beyond this summer.
