Aston Villa entertained Brighton and Hove Albion at Villa Park earlier tonight as they hoped to secure a good result at home in the Premier League. The Villans made a solid start to the game but were held to a scoreless draw at the half-time break.<\/p>\n

Unai Emery\u2019s men finally got their noses ahead in the 86th minute when Jack Hinshelwood scored an unfortunate own goal. The match ended with Aston Villa securing a narrow 1-0 win at Villa Park.<\/p>\n

Let\u2019s take a look at how each Aston Villa<\/a> player fared during the clash against the Seagulls.<\/p>\n

GK: Emiliano Martinez \u2013 7.5\/10<\/strong><\/p>\n

He made his fair share of saves during the game and did enough to keep a clean sheet.<\/p>\n

RB: Lamare Bogarde \u2013 7\/10<\/strong><\/p>\n

Bogarde was solid when defending inside his half but offered very little going forward.<\/p>\n

CB: Ezri Konsa \u2013 7\/10<\/strong><\/p>\n

He put his foot through the ball when he could and was a threat at the other end of the field.<\/p>\n

CB: Tyrone Mings \u2013 6.5\/10<\/strong><\/p>\n

Mings cleared the danger when required and did enough to secure the clean sheet.<\/p>\n

LB: Ian Maatsen \u2013 7.5\/10<\/strong><\/p>\n

Maatsen was a solid presence on the defensive end of the pitch and made two good chances from the left flank.<\/p>\n

CM: Amadou Onana \u2013 6.5\/10<\/strong><\/p>\n

He anchored the midfield well and was not shy of having a strike at goal.<\/p>\n

CM: Douglas Luiz \u2013 7\/10<\/strong><\/p>\n

Luiz was a positive influence at both ends of the field.<\/p>\n

RW: Jadon Sancho \u2013 6\/10<\/strong><\/p>\n

He engineered a few decent chances for others around him but failed to threaten the opponent\u2019s goal.<\/p>\n

CAM: Morgan Rogers \u2013 6.5\/10<\/strong><\/p>\n

Rogers caused a few headaches for the opposition defenders, but there was no goal for him tonight.<\/p>\n

LW: Emi Buendia \u2013 6.5\/10<\/strong><\/p>\n

Buendia managed to shine at times on the left flank and was substituted in the 59th minute.<\/p>\n

ST: Ollie Watkins \u2013 6\/10<\/strong><\/p>\n

He struggled to impress during his time on the pitch.<\/p>\n
