Former Everton<\/a> chief executive Keith Wyness just dropped a major revelation about Harry Wilson\u2019s future. He reckons Sunderland might pull off a surprise move for the Fulham midfielder this summer. Speaking on Football Insider\u2019s Inside Track podcast, the 67-year-old insider said the Black Cats have emerged as serious contenders for Wilson\u2019s signature.<\/p>\n

Wyness noted that a January move didn\u2019t materialise because Fulham didn\u2019t want to weaken their squad mid-season. Things look different for the summer window, though. Manchester City prospect Oscar Bobb recently arrived at Craven Cottage. His presence means more competition for attacking spots, which could clear a path for Wilson to leave.<\/p>\n

The situation is still changing as we head through February 2026. Fulham stood their ground in the winter window. They chose to chase European qualification rather than sell a player whose contract ends in June. Even so, Wyness suggests Wilson has to think about his next big career move.<\/p>\n

At 28, the winger is at a real crossroads. Wyness believes that if Wilson wants a big move, he\u2019ll need to hit a run of form to show clubs like Sunderland what he\u2019s worth. The link caught Wyness off guard at first. After thinking it over, he admitted the Welsh international actually fits the Sunderland style perfectly.<\/p>\n

He told Football Insider\u2018s Inside Track podcast: \u201cHe\u2019s a very talented kid, but he\u2019s getting on, he\u2019s 28 now. So this is an important move for him as to where this goes.<\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cBut I don\u2019t see him moving. I\u2019d thought he may have done something in January, but Fulham want to hang on to him just now. With Oscar Bobb coming in, that\u2019s going to be competition as well up front. So let\u2019s just see how this pans out for the second part of the season.<\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cBut he\u2019s another player that if he is going to be agitating for a move, expect him to hit some form as well. He\u2019s scored some very good goals before, and he has got talent, and he will fit certain teams\u2019 playing styles.<\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cNow, the one that came out of the blue for me when I talked to some of my contacts was Sunderland, who were thinking about a possibility for Harry Wilson. I think he would fit their style of play very well, and that\u2019s one I\u2019m not discounting to show some interest in the summer as well.\u201d <\/em><\/p>\n

Good signing for the Black Cats?\u00a0<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Sunderland\u2019s interest shows they aren\u2019t just happy to be back in the Premier League; they want to compete. They currently sit comfortably in the top half of the table. To stay there, they need proven top-flight talent. Wilson fits the bill. He loves to cut inside from the right onto that dangerous left foot. That would give the Sunderland attack a completely different dimension.<\/p>\n

Wilson will also be demanding regular game time. He has nine goals already this season, proving he still has that clinical touch. Bringing in a player of his calibre on a free transfer would be a massive bit of business for Sunderland.
