In a recent interview, Rangers<\/a> legend Barry Ferguson tipped Mikey Moore to sign a permanent contract once his loan deal expires this summer. The Tottenham Hotspur teenager has been key to their resurgence under Danny Rohl, as his flair down the flanks and the playmaking attributes have caught the attention of the former Scotland international.<\/p>\n

\u201cI really like him centrally. I think he\u2019s so dangerous. But the great thing about him is that the young man can play either flank. But when he plays that floating role in behind the striker, he\u2019s so dangerous.\u201d<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Ferguson told GO Radio (as cited by The Daily Record<\/a>), praising the 18-year-old\u2019s directness with the ball on his feet. However, he believes that the Gers would find it difficult to tie him down, given his development at Ibrox.<\/p>\n

Although Moore was not in Thomas Frank\u2019s plans, the Dane\u2019s dismissal could revive his Spurs career. Rangers must shatter their club record to contest for the exciting Englishman, and Peter Grant, the Celtic<\/a> great, expects him to stay up north of the border on a full-time basis, with a view to making a significant financial profit by selling him in a few years.<\/p>\n

Why Moore Might Struggle For Minutes At Spurs<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The 18-year-old England youth international progressed through Tottenham\u2019s academy ranks before making his senior debut in May 2024. He became the club\u2019s youngest-ever player to play in the Premier League at 16 years and 277 days, and the then-boss Ange Postecoglou handed him 17 first-team appearances during their 2024-25 campaign across competitions. Moore played five times in the Europa League en route to conquering the silverware, and was tied down to a long-term contract before accepting Rangers\u2019 season-long loan offer.<\/p>\n

The Lilywhites are well-equipped down the wide with Dejan Kulusevski, Mathys Tel, Richarlison, Mohammed Kudus and Wilson Odobert being the preferred options over the loaned-out trio of Moore, Min-Hyeok Yang, and Manor Solomon. Xavi Simons and James Maddison are ahead of him in the pecking order for the \u2018number 10\u2019 spot, and the youngster would struggle for minutes in North London when all their current stars are available, overcoming their injury woes.<\/p>\n

Why Rangers Must Retain His Services<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Nevertheless, Moore has a very high ceiling, having emerged as a key figure in Rangers\u2019 title charge. He has netted five times and laid on thrice in 36 outings so far this season, and his crucial equaliser against Livingston as a midfield attacker might now see him getting the nod over Thelo Aasgaard if Rohl lines them up in a 4-2-3-1 formation.<\/p>\n

Spurs are going strong in the Champions League, but are battling for survival under their interim chief, Igor Tudor.
