Former Everton boss Keith Wyness shared his firm belief that Manchester City will sell Jack Grealish to Everton for good this summer. Wyness ran Everton from 2004 to 2009 and now advises top-flight clubs. He told the podcast that City isn’t interested in another loan for the 30-year-old England star.

Jack Grealish To Everton: Keith Wyness Predicts Summer Move

A stress fracture in Grealish’s foot needed surgery and cut his current loan at Goodison Park short. This injury spoiled what was becoming a great comeback story. Before the injury, he was playing at an elite level. He racked up four assists in his first five games and even picked up the Premier League Player of the Month award in August, his first time winning that honour. Grealish also bagged two goals before his season hit a wall.

Wyness points out that everyone involved, City, Grealish, and Everton, are dealing with a lot of frustration and financial stress. So, he thinks they’ll all push for a sensible deal with a lower fee. He expects the final price to be way less than what the clubs talked about before. Grealish will likely also have to take a pay cut from his reported £300,000-a-week wages to make it happen.

“I don’t think that he’ll be loaned; I think he’ll probably be bought. I think the deal will be done during the summer. I still think it’ll be at a reduced rate compared to what was pushed before. I think with Jack’s injury, etc. There’ll be a much lower fee, I think there’ll be a cut in wages, and I think that Everton have borne the cost of him this season. So all parties here, both City, Jack and Everton have felt the pain to a degree. And I think there’ll be a sensible resolution, but I expect him to be a full Everton player in the summer rather than being on loan again.”

Everton Transfer News: Is Grealish the Best Move for Everton Right Now?

BIRMINGHAM, ENGLAND – JANUARY 18: Jack Grealish of Everton warms up prior to the Premier League match between Aston Villa and Everton at Villa Park on January 18, 2026 in Birmingham, England. They’ve got ten wins, seven draws, and ten losses so far. The club are clearly moving in the right direction, and the choice to sign Grealish shows exactly how much ambition they have.

The logic for a permanent deal is simple. Before he got injured, Grealish was Everton’s most dangerous player. The team still need a creative spark in the middle, and he provides exactly that.

Grealish also has plenty to prove. Thomas Tuchel hasn’t picked him for England since taking over as manager. Staying at a stable Everton side gives him a much better shot than sitting on the bench at City. At 30, he brings the experience and directness the squad needs. If the clubs can agree on the lower price Wyness mentioned, Everton can pull this off without breaking the bank.

The Inside Track podcast dropped a big scoop this week.
