Aston Villa faced off against Wolverhampton Wanderers at the Molineux Stadium earlier tonight as they hoped to secure a good result in the West Midlands derby. The Villans made a slow start to the game and were held to a scoreless draw at the half-time break.<\/p>\n

Joao Gomes scored the opener for Wolves in the 61st minute before Rodrigo Gomes killed the game off in injury time. The match ended with Unai Emery\u2019s men suffering a 2-0 defeat in the derby.<\/p>\n

Let\u2019s take a look at how each Aston Villa<\/a> player fared during the clash against Wolves.<\/p>\n

GK: Emiliano Martinez \u2013 5.5\/10<\/strong><\/p>\n

He failed to make a save in the game and conceded two goals in this derby.<\/p>\n

RB: Matty Cash \u2013 6.5\/10<\/strong><\/p>\n

Cash was a positive influence at both ends of the field.<\/p>\n

CB: Ezri Konsa \u2013 6.5\/10<\/strong><\/p>\n

He made a few crucial interceptions at the back, but it was not enough tonight.<\/p>\n

CB: Pau Torres \u2013 6.5\/10<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Spaniard did his fair share of defending but failed to keep things solid inside his half.<\/p>\n

Digne produced a disjointed performance at left-back.<\/p>\n

CM: Douglas Luiz \u2013 6.5\/10<\/strong><\/p>\n

He caught the eye at times and made two decent chances on the offensive end of the pitch.<\/p>\n

CM: Amadou Onana \u2013 6\/10<\/strong><\/p>\n

Onana put his foot through the ball when he could and was not shy of having a strike at goal.<\/p>\n

RW: Emi Buendia \u2013 5.5\/10<\/strong><\/p>\n

He failed to get into the flow of the game and never looked like he would score.<\/p>\n

CAM: Morgan Rogers \u2013 6.5\/10<\/strong><\/p>\n

Rogers caused some problems for the opposition defenders but failed to register a goal.<\/p>\n

LW: Jadon Sancho \u2013 6.5\/10<\/strong><\/p>\n

He managed to shine at times on the left flank, but didn\u2019t do enough to find the back of the net.<\/p>\n

Watkins was quiet for most of his time on the field.<\/p>\n
