Everton are preparing to host Tottenham Hotspur at home in the Premier League this weekend. The former side faced a defeat at the hands of Aston Villa in their previous game and will need to get it in the past to do well on Saturday.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Toffees are 16th on the points table, <\/span>which means<\/span> they aren\u2019t far <\/span>away<\/span> from the relegation zone.<\/span> Hence, they will be under immense pressure to yield a positive result <\/span>out of<\/span> this fixture. However, <\/span>it goes without saying that<\/span> it won\u2019t be easy.<\/span><\/p>\n

Defence<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Jordan Pickford<\/a> did decent enough <\/span>and<\/span> he<\/span> will have a <\/span>big<\/span> role to play if the Toffees want to clinch the game against Spurs. Ashley Young is starting as the right-back in the lineup without any doubts.<\/span><\/p>\n

The centre-back duo of Jarrad Branthwaite and James Tarkowski remain intact. However, they will be <\/span>on their toes<\/span> to restrict the opponent\u2019s threats. <\/span>No<\/span> doubt about the left-back position as Vitalii Mykolenko continues to provide his services from there.<\/span><\/p>\n

While Idrissa Gueye is deployed in the middle of the park <\/span>yet<\/span> again, Jack Harrison<\/a> might be sacrificed to make way for Jesper Lindstr\u00f8m in the midfield unit.<\/span><\/p>\n

Attack<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Orel Mangala<\/a>, who <\/span>was used<\/span> in the midfield in the previous game, will be seen operating on the right flank <\/span>with<\/span> Iliman Ndiaye taking charge of the other side of the pitch. Abdoulaye Doucoure provides the bridge between the midfield and the attacking line and will have Dominic Calvert-Lewin playing in front of him.<\/span><\/p>\n

Dwight McNeil, Seamus Coleman, Tim Iroegbunam, Youssef Chermiti, and Armando Broja are confirmed <\/span>absentees<\/span> while James Garner marks his return.<\/span><\/p>\n
