High-flying Newcastle United were desperate to stretch their incredible winning streak when they hosted Bournemouth this afternoon at St James\u2019 Park. These two sides shared spoils when they clashed heads in the reverse fixture, however, the upbeat Cherries stunned former gaffer Eddie Howe\u2019s side by scripting a 3-1 triumph. Justin Kluivert\u2019s stellar hat-trick ended the Magpies\u2019 incredible home run.<\/p>\n

Below are the Newcastle United<\/a> players rated in their 4-1 defeat against Bournemouth.<\/p>\n

Martin Dubravka: 6.5<\/strong><\/p>\n

Could have done little to stop Kluivert\u2019s brace. Made some crucial stops to keep the hosts in the contest until the injury time.<\/p>\n

Valentino Livramento: 5.5<\/strong><\/p>\n

Had a tough time against Antoine Semenyo who kept causing problems with his tricky runs and fancy footwork. Found it difficult to make overlapping runs and attacking contributions.<\/p>\n

Sven Botman: 5<\/strong><\/p>\n

Had a nervy half where he struggled against the swiftness of the Bournemouth attack. Howe took him off at the break in favour of Fabian Schar.<\/p>\n

Dan Burn: 5.5<\/strong><\/p>\n

Was shaky as well, particularly when the visitors staged counter-attacks with finesse and composure. Struggled to play it out from the back and his lack of pace made things look easy for Andoni Iraola\u2019s army.<\/p>\n

Lewis Hall: 6.5<\/strong><\/p>\n

Set it up for Bruno Guimaraes\u2019 first-half equalizer from the corner. Was taken off for Kieran Trippier midway through the second half.<\/p>\n

Sandro Tonali: 7<\/strong><\/p>\n

Worked hard in midfield to win possession and make recoveries against Bournemouth\u2019s relentless press. Tried to carry the ball forward from the deep, but the lack of cutting-edge high up the pitch put his effort in vain.<\/p>\n

Bruno Guimaraes: 7<\/strong><\/p>\n

Headed home from Hall\u2019s corner but was at fault during Kluivert\u2019s second late in the first half. Got dispossessed deep down the pitch which allowed Dango Ouattara to lay it on for the Dutchman. Made way for William Osula late in the match.<\/p>\n

Joelinton: 6<\/strong><\/p>\n

Combated in midfield but was closed down quickly by the visitors who kept winning duels and snatching the possession from the Brazilian throughout the contest.<\/p>\n

Jacob Murphy: 6<\/strong><\/p>\n

Tried to threaten from the counters with his pace and link-up play. Was forced to leave the pitch with an injury concern. Joe Willock replaced him around the 66th-minute mark.<\/p>\n

Anthony Gordon: 5.5<\/strong><\/p>\n

An afternoon to forget for the wideman who hardly had any impact and was rather erroneous during Milos Kerkez\u2019s last-gasp goal that made it 4-1 in favour of the travellers.<\/p>\n

Alexander Isak: 5.5<\/strong><\/p>\n

Isak, too, failed to leave a mark as he could not even test Kepa Arrizabalaga in the Bournemouth goal. His stellar scoring streak ends disappointingly.<\/p>\n

Failed to restore the composure and calmness in the defensive third.<\/p>\n
