In a recent report<\/a>, journalist Graeme Bailey claimed that Tottenham Hotspur are facing stiff competition for Liverpool winger Cody Gakpo. It has been mentioned that Spurs would have to rival Atletico Madrid, Napoli, AC Milan and Red Bull Leipzig in the race to land the Dutch wide player this summer.<\/p>\n

Gakpo\u2019s Inconsistent Form In The Premier League<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Gakpo has struggled to find consistency for the Reds during this campaign, but has managed to put in a run of productive displays on the left side of Arne Slot\u2019s attack. The 26-year-old has banged in eight goals and grabbed four assists in 42 matches for the Merseyside club this season in all competitions.<\/p>\n

On his day, the Dutch talent can be one of the most feared wingers in the Premier League. Thus, it makes sense for Spurs to try and get a deal over the line for him at the end of this campaign.<\/p>\n

His current contract at the Merseyside club will expire in the summer of 2030, which could make it difficult for Tottenham to land him on the cheap later this year.<\/p>\n

Will Gakpo Be A Good Fit For Tottenham Hotspur?<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Gakpo is a good dribbler with the ball at his feet and can make a few driving runs with it out in the wide areas. He has got the vision to create some decent chances for his teammates to find the back of the net and can shoot the ball with power from long range.<\/p>\n

The Dutch sensation can chip in by scoring and creating his fair share of goals from the left flank. He is already quite familiar with the Premier League<\/a> and won\u2019t take much time to adjust to life at Tottenham<\/a>.<\/p>\n

We can expect Gakpo to enhance the quality of Spurs\u2019 frontline. He is more than capable of nailing down a regular first-team spot at the North London club in the coming seasons.<\/p>\n

At 26, Gakpo has his best years ahead of him, which makes him a decent fit for Tottenham\u2019s needs in the long run. He will also help Spurs get back to challenging for one of the European spots in the Premier League over the next few years.
