In a recent interview<\/a>, former scout Mick Brown revealed that Sunderland<\/a> striker Brian Brobbey is generating interest from Aston Villa<\/a>. Brown said,<\/p>\n

\u201cAston Villa are looking to sign a new striker in the summer.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey\u2019ve been frustrated with Watkins and the other options because they haven\u2019t had that regular goalscorer, so they\u2019re looking at a few options. Brian Brobbey is somebody they will have been looking at, because there\u2019s always interest in players, strikers particularly, who are making a bit of a name for themselves.<\/p>\n

\u201cSunderland did a fantastic job with their recruitment in the summer, and it\u2019s been a really strong season for them, and Brobbey has been very impressive. He looks a handful to play against. He\u2019s strong, will back into defenders, battle them, fight them, run in behind, and he\u2019ll score goals as well. So for a side like Aston Villa, that sort of centre-forward is going to be somebody who takes their fancy and I\u2019m sure they\u2019ll be keeping a close eye on him.\u201d<\/p>\n

Brobbey\u2019s Decent Record In The Premier League<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Brobbey is having an excellent campaign at the Wearside club as he has produced a series of impressive performances for them up top. The Dutch forward has scored seven goals and grabbed one assist in 26 matches for Sunderland this season across multiple competitions.<\/p>\n

His current contract at the Stadium of Light will run out in the summer of 2029. Hence, the Black Cats are under no immediate pressure to cash in on him this off-season.<\/p>\n

Should Sunderland Cash In On Brobbey?<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Brobbey can find a yard of space for himself to get some strikes in at goal. He has got the vision to create the odd chance for others around him in the final third and is a good dribbler with the ball at his feet.<\/p>\n

The Dutch sensation can be a real handful for the opposition defenders and has played an important role in helping Sunderland steer clear of relegation danger in the Premier League this season.<\/p>\n

At 24, Brobbey has got his peak years ahead of him. Hence, the Black Cats would be wise not to cash in on him unless they receive a big offer for his services in the summer transfer period.
