On Thursday\u2019s print edition<\/a>, Gazzetta dello Sport mentioned that Leeds United are facing tough competition for Utrecht full-back Souffian El Karouani this summer. It has been claimed that the Whites would have to compete with Everton, Roma and Olympique Marseille in the race to land the Moroccan defender this off-season.<\/p>\n

El Karouani\u2019s Impressive Form In Dutch Football<\/strong><\/h3>\n

El Karouani has enjoyed an excellent run of form at the Dutch club in this campaign so far as he has produced a string of productive displays for them in the Eredivisie. The 25-year-old has found the back of the net three times and earned 16 assists in 42 matches for Utrecht this season across various competitions.<\/p>\n

The Moroccan talent is currently one of the best left-backs in the Dutch Eredivisie. Hence, the Whites would do well to win the race to acquire his services at the end of this campaign.<\/p>\n

His current contract at the Dutch club will run out at the end of this campaign, which could open the door for the Premier League<\/a> side to sign him on a free transfer this summer.<\/p>\n

Should Leeds United Boss Daniel Farke Go For El Karouani?<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Karouani is a good tackler of the ball and can scan the danger well to earn the ball back for his side inside his half. He doesn\u2019t mind clearing the danger when needed and can create a few inviting chances for his teammates to find the back of the net.<\/p>\n

The Moroccan sensation can strike the ball with venom from long range and is a good dribbler with the ball at his feet. He is primarily a left-back but can also perform as a left-sided wide player or as a box-to-box midfielder if told to do so.<\/p>\n

We can expect Karouani to add more quality and depth to Leeds boss Daniel Farke\u2019s defence. He has what it takes to fight for a regular first-team spot at the West Yorkshire club in the coming years.<\/p>\n
