In a recent report<\/a>, Corriere dello Sport revealed that Sunderland could move in for Bologna defender Jhon Lucumi this summer. It has been stated that the Black Cats are eyeing a move to bring the Colombian centre-back to the Stadium of Light this off-season.<\/p>\n

Lucumi\u2019s Impressive Form In Serie A<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Lucumi has enjoyed a good run of form at the Italian club this season as he has put in a handful of solid displays for them on the defensive end of the field. The 27-year-old has featured in 35 matches for Bologna in this campaign so far, scoring one goal in various competitions.<\/p>\n

The Colombian talent has proven himself to be a consistent defender in Serie A this season. Hence, it is no surprise that the Black Cats could launch a move to land him this summer.<\/p>\n

His current contract at Bologna will run out at the end of next season. Hence, Sunderland could potentially sign him on the cheap in the summer transfer window.<\/p>\n

Should Sunderland Boss Regis Le Bris Get Lucumi On Board?<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Lucumi loves a tackle and can time his challenges well to secure possession back for his team inside his half. He doesn\u2019t mind putting his foot through the ball when needed and is a decent passer as well.<\/p>\n

Standing at 1.87m, the Colombian sensation is a strong presence in the air. However, there are some question marks over whether he can maintain his good form in the Premier League<\/a> if the Black Cats manage to snap him up this off-season.<\/p>\n

We can expect Lucumi to bring more quality and depth to Sunderland<\/a> head coach Regis Le Bris\u2019 defence.
