Speaking on the Inside Track podcast<\/a>, former Everton chief executive Keith Wyness claimed that Manchester City are in pole position to sign Newcastle full-back Tino Livramento. Wyness said,<\/p>\n

\u201cYes, very much so.\u00a0I\u00a0think\u00a0that\u2019s\u00a0pretty much nailed\u00a0on as far as\u00a0I\u2019m\u00a0aware.<\/p>\n

\u201cI heard from somebody the other\u00a0day.\u00a0I talked to an agent who said\u00a0that it\u2019s\u00a0going to\u00a0be happening. They did expect that sort of\u00a0big number\u00a0around the \u00a370m\u00a0mark, which is\u00a0a big number, as we say, breaking the record.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut I think\u00a0he\u2019s\u00a0the right one for\u00a0City. I think\u00a0he\u2019s\u00a0a talented player, and it helps Newcastle fill the coffers.\u201d<\/p>\n

Livramento\u2019s Decent Form In English Football<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Livramento is having a solid campaign at the Tyneside club as he has managed to put in a run of impressive displays for them in the Premier League. The English full-back has secured one assist in 24 appearances for Newcastle this season across all competitions.<\/p>\n

On his day, the 23-year-old is one of the best full-backs in the Premier League. Therefore, Man City would do well to snap him up in the summer transfer window.<\/p>\n

His current deal at St. James\u2019 Park will expire in the summer of 2028, which could make it tough for the Mancunian giants to sign him on a cut-price deal this off-season.<\/p>\n

Will Livramento Be A Good Fit For Manchester City Boss Pep Guardiola?<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Livramento is a good tackler of the ball and can time his challenges well to make some important interceptions for his side inside his half. He doesn\u2019t mind clearing his lines when needed and can create the odd chance for his teammates from the wide areas.<\/p>\n

The English talent is primarily a right-back but can also play as a left-bac or as a right-sided wide player if needed. He has got a wealth of experience in the Premier League<\/a> and won\u2019t take much time to adjust to life at Man City<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Livramento would add more quality to Pep Guardiola\u2019s defence. He has what it takes to fight for regular first-team football at the Etihad Stadium next season.<\/p>\n
