In a recent interview<\/a>, former Manchester United chief scout Mick Brown claimed that Manchester City<\/a> are leading the race for Nottingham Forest<\/a> star Elliot Anderson. Brown said,<\/p>\n

\u201cMan United would love to sign Anderson, everybody knows that.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut at the moment, they feel like City are probably the favourites because they can afford to spend more, like we saw last year and in January.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s difficult to know what Man United\u2019s situation is, but their budget is unlikely to stretch to the \u00a3100million Forest are going to want for Anderson.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo that puts City in a strong position to get the deal done.<\/p>\n

\u201cFrom his point of view as well, Man United have improved this season but there\u2019s more of a certainty about Man City and competing for trophies.\u201d<\/p>\n

Anderson\u2019s Impressive Form In English Football<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Anderson is having a decent campaign at the Midlands club as he has put in a run of impressive displays for them at the centre of the park. The 23-year-old has scored two goals and earned three assists in 41 matches for Nottingham this season across all competitions.<\/p>\n

The English talent is currently one of the best central midfielders in the Premier League. Thus, it is no surprise that Man City are showing interest in recruiting him this summer.<\/p>\n

Should Manchester City Boss Pep Guardiola Move In For Anderson?<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Anderson is a good tackler of the ball and can read the danger well to secure the ball back for his team inside his half. He doesn\u2019t mind clearing the danger when needed and can shoot the ball with venom from long range.<\/p>\n

The English sensation can create some inviting chances for others around him in the final third and is an energetic runner with the ball. He is primarily a box-to-box midfielder but can also serve as a defensive midfielder or play in the number ten position if required.<\/p>\n

We can expect Anderson to add more quality and depth to Man City head coach Pep Guardiola\u2019s midfield. He has what it takes to nail down a regular first-team spot at the Etihad Stadium and could serve as an ideal long-term successor to Rodri at the Mancunian club.<\/p>\n
