According to reports from Africafoot<\/a>, PSV Eindhoven have made contact with Youssef Chermiti\u2019s representatives to talk about a potential summer move. The 21-year-old Portuguese forward joined Rangers from Everton last summer for a fee that could rise to \u00a310m, and he is currently under contract until 2029.<\/p>\n

While he found it hard to score at first, Chermiti has hit his stride under Rohl, putting up 11 goals and 3 assists in 1,523 minutes<\/a> of Premiership play this season. PSV think the striker would be a perfect fit for the Eredivisie, but Rangers see his improved form as a reason to hold out for a big fee.<\/p>\n

Rangers<\/a> should avoid the temptation to sell Youssef Chermiti this summer. Losing him now would gut the squad\u2019s attacking options just as they are starting to build momentum. While a huge check from PSV might look good for the club\u2019s player trading books, Ryan Naderi\u2019s current injury makes Chermiti vital for the title run-in. Because of that sell-on clause owed to Everton, a big chunk of any transfer fee would vanish immediately, leaving very little in the budget to find a replacement with his 1.92m physical presence.<\/p>\n

Besides, the striker is only just starting to reward the club\u2019s patience after a slow start, and his 11 goals suggest he is worth far more than his current \u20ac9m valuation. Selling a top scorer to a European rival just as the team are finding their identity under Danny Rohl would be the wrong signal to send to the fans.
