Aston Villa welcomed Tottenham Hotspur at Villa Park earlier tonight as they hoped to secure a win at home in the Premier League. The Villans made a poor start to the game and conceded the opening goal in the 12th minute when Conor Gallagher found the back of the net. Richarlison doubled his team\u2019s advantage in the 25th minute as Unai Emery\u2019s men went into the half-time interval 2-0 down on the scoreline.<\/p>\n

Emi Buendia scored a late consolation goal for the Midlands club in injury time as Aston Villa crashed to a tough 2-1 loss in front of their home fans.<\/p>\n

Let\u2019s take a look at how each Aston Villa<\/a> player fared during the clash against Spurs.<\/p>\n

GK: Emiliano Martinez \u2013 6\/10<\/strong><\/p>\n

He made a couple of solid saves at the back but conceded twice in the first half.<\/p>\n

RB: Matty Cash \u2013 7.5\/10<\/strong><\/p>\n

Cash got stuck in with some solid tackles and has got an assist to show for his efforts.<\/p>\n

CB: Victor Lindelof \u2013 6.5\/10<\/strong><\/p>\n

He did his fair share of defending, but it was not enough this evening.<\/p>\n

CB: Tyrone Mings \u2013 6\/10<\/strong><\/p>\n

Mings made two important clearances inside his half but was far from convincing on the defensive end of the pitch.<\/p>\n

LB: Ian Maatsen \u2013 6\/10<\/strong><\/p>\n

He came back to defend when he could, but failed to make a difference going forward.<\/p>\n

CM: Lamare Bogarde \u2013 6.5\/10<\/strong><\/p>\n

Bogarde got stuck in with some crunching tackles and was accurate with his passing.<\/p>\n

CM: Youri Tielemans \u2013 6\/10<\/strong><\/p>\n

He offered decent protection for his teammates at the back but lacked quality on the ball.<\/p>\n

RW: Jadon Sancho \u2013 6\/10<\/strong><\/p>\n

Sancho made one good run with the ball, but never looked like he would score.<\/p>\n

CAM: Ross Barkley \u2013 5.5\/10<\/strong><\/p>\n

He made one decent chance in the final third and was replaced in the 84th minute.<\/p>\n

LW: Morgan Rogers \u2013 6.5\/10<\/strong><\/p>\n

Rogers made a few driving runs with the ball and was wasteful with his passing.<\/p>\n

ST: Tammy Abraham \u2013 6\/10<\/strong><\/p>\n

He struggled to influence the game during his time on the pitch.<\/p>\n
