Sunderland forward Wilson Isidor has popped up on Leeds United\u2019s radar ahead of the summer window. The 25-year-old looks more and more likely to push for a move after losing his spot in R\u00e9gis Le Bris\u2019 starting XI. Isidor played a big part in Sunderland\u2019s promotion push, but his playing time has dropped off a cliff since Brian Brobbey took over as the main man up top at the Stadium of Light. He hasn\u2019t started a Premier League match since early December and has only found the net once in his last 24 games, sparking rumours that he\u2019s on his way out of Wearside.<\/p>\n

Sunderland face a summer decision over Wilson Isidor as Leeds are interested<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Speaking on Football Insider\u2019s Transfer Insider podcast, Pete O\u2019Rourke<\/a> mentioned that several clubs could come calling for Isidor, as long as Sunderland don\u2019t get carried away with their asking price. He noted that Leeds are definitely looking to beef up their attack this summer, and while Isidor is on their shortlist, he isn\u2019t necessarily their primary target.<\/p>\n

Sunderland<\/a> were holding out for about \u00a325 million in January, a price tag that scared off a few teams, but that figure might come down this summer. In 30 Premier League games, Isidor has five goals, a 40% shot accuracy, and averages 5.08 touches in the box every 90 minutes.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s under contract until 2028, and as long as Sunderland don\u2019t ask for silly money, I think there\u2019ll be a number of clubs who would be interested in Isidor.<\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cLeeds obviously will be looking to add to their attacking options in the summer as well, but yeah, I\u2019m sure Isidor is on the list but not necessarily high up on it.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

Should Sunderland actually sell Isidor, or does keeping him make more sense for 2026-27?<\/strong><\/h3>\n

For Sunderland<\/a>, letting Isidor go is a bit of a gamble. His pace and his habit of getting shots off early give Le Bris a different option off the bench, and that\u2019s a specific trait that isn\u2019t easy to find on the cheap. His 27.3% dribble success and 29.1% duel win rate show he still struggles with the physical side of the top flight, so his flaws are pretty easy to see.<\/p>\n

Even so, Isidor\u2019s directness and movement still offer something to a young Premier League side trying to build a deeper squad. Sunderland are already planning to bring in more attackers this summer, with sporting director Florent Ghisolfi expected to shake up the front line.<\/p>\n

Keeping Isidor while also signing a new striker might not make much financial sense. A deal around \u00a315 million, meeting somewhere in the middle of Sunderland\u2019s hopes and Leeds\u2019 budget,\u00a0is likely a fair result for everyone and gives the Black Cats the cash to go after a more consistent starter for 2026-27.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
