ESPN<\/a> has reported that PSG<\/a> are looking to strengthen their defense in the upcoming summer transfer window and have turned their attention towards Ibrahima Konate of Liverpool. Konate has been an integral part of the defensive line of the Reds and is definitely one of the best centre-backs in the Premier League.<\/p>\n

PSG want to sign Ibrahima Konate<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The Paris side definitely has all the resources to sign Konate, and the player might also look to leave for the French league. The towering French defender for Liverpool brings a blend of physical dominance and surprising agility to the pitch. His style is marked by a calm presence at the back, effortlessly dispatching attackers with well-timed tackles and aerial superiority.<\/p>\n

Konate has conceded 12 goals and kept eight clean sheets in 18 matches in the Premier League 2024\/2025 season. That means when Konate is on the pitch, his team concedes a goal every 124 minutes. Moreover, he\u2019s made 1.54 tackles and 0.58 interceptions for every 90 minutes he was on the pitch. Konate is also racking up about 3.66 clearances at the same time.<\/p>\n

Should Liverpool let him leave the club?<\/strong><\/h3>\n

However, the Reds can\u2019t afford to lose Konate in the summer given that Virgil van Dijk has already entered the last few months of his contract and is set to leave the Anfield side in the summer. Therefore, the Reds can\u2019t afford to lose another quality defender in the form of Konate.<\/p>\n

Liverpool will want to retain the 25-year-old by offering him a new contract with good pay to fend off any interest from PSG. They need him at their heart of defense to build their new backline after the departure of Van Dijk. So, even if PSG comes up with a good offer, it is close to impossible that Arne Slot will let Konate leave in the summer transfer window.
