According to Spanish outlet <\/span>Fichajes<\/span><\/a>, Arsenal have entered the race to sign Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong. The Premier League club are ready to offer as much as \u20ac75 million to lure away the Dutch player in the summer transfer window.<\/span><\/p>\n

Frenkie de Jong is doing well lately<\/span><\/strong><\/h2>\n

Frenkie de Jong<\/a> arrived at Barcelona from Ajax in the summer of 2019. Since then he has been a decent performance even if he does not stand out from the crowd. He continues to be an integral part of the squad and one of the best midfielders in his role.<\/span><\/p>\n

Coming from a long-term injury, de Jong has featured in 26 this season <\/span>so far<\/span>. In those many appearances, he has two goals and one assist. He <\/span>is averaging<\/span> 0.7 tackles, 0.4 interceptions, and 0.2 clearances per game (stats via <\/span>whoscored<\/span><\/a>).<\/span><\/p>\n

The Dutch midfielder is quite versatile <\/span>in<\/span> donning different roles in the midfield. He is press-resistant<\/span> and is<\/span> comfortable on the ball. He distributes the ball really well and has also worked hard on his off-the-ball movements.<\/span><\/p>\n

Frenkie de Jong can strengthen Arsenal<\/span><\/strong><\/h2>\n

Arsenal wanted to sign a defensive midfielder and were after Martin Zubimendi<\/a>. However, the player decided to stay at his boyhood club and signed a new contract. Hence, the English outfit has turned their focus towards Frenkie de Jong.<\/span><\/p>\n
