According to <\/span>Football Insider<\/span><\/a>, Newcastle United are ready to let Nick Pope go in the summer transfer window. The Premier League club have identified Burnley\u2019s shot-stopper James Trafford as a potential name to replace the veteran.<\/span><\/p>\n

James Trafford is doing a great job<\/span><\/strong><\/h2>\n

James Trafford<\/a> started his career at Manchester City<\/a> but failed to establish himself there. Hence, he moved to Burnley in the summer of 2023. <\/span>Since then, he has improved <\/span>a lot on<\/span> his skills and <\/span>has attracted eyeballs<\/span> from multiple clubs.<\/span><\/p>\n

Trafford <\/span>is<\/span> enjoying a great time between the sticks <\/span>in the ongoing season so far<\/span>. In 33 <\/span>apperances<\/span>, he has <\/span>managed to keep 24 clean sheet while conceeding<\/span> only nine goals.<\/span><\/p>\n

The English goalkeeper started his career as a midfielder before donning the gloves. He is known for his quick reflexes and strong hands. <\/span>His<\/span> distribution skills and <\/span>penalty saving abilities are also well appreciated by many<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Nick Pope can leave in the summer<\/span><\/strong><\/h2>\n

Nick Pope<\/a> has unfortunately<\/span> struggled with injuries in the 2024-25 season. With only one year left on his contract, Newcastle United believe it\u2019s the right time to let him go. The goalkeeper is already <\/span>32-year-old<\/span> and is going to slow down with time.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Magpies are willing to part ways with their veteran for around \u00a310-15 million. <\/span>Pope could be a valuable fit for many clubs <\/span>given his quality and experience<\/span>. However, it remains to be seen if any club will be ready to offer that much <\/span>or not<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n

On the flip side, James Trafford has shown that he has all the qualities to play for a top-tier club. He can be a long-term solution for Newcastle United. The 22-year-old will surely fancy <\/span>the opportunity of<\/span> moving to the Magpies if it arrives in the summer.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n
