Calciomercato<\/a> has reported that Manchester City are interested in resigning Douglas Luiz. Pep Guardiola\u2019s side wants to strengthen their midfield, and he feels that someone with Premier League experience like Luiz can definitely go on to rejuvenate the attack.<\/p>\n

Manchester City want to resign Douglas Luiz<\/strong><\/h3>\n

He did not have a good experience at City and had to part ways with the club. Luiz then moved to Aston Villa and was one of the most important midfielders for the club. He performed sensationally well, but the Birmingham side needed money, and hence they sold him to Juventus for \u20ac50 million. However, he did not show his park while playing for the Turin club.<\/p>\n

He has appeared in\u00a015 matches\u00a0this season in\u00a0Serie A so far, playing a total of\u00a0479 minutes. So, the stat clearly shows that he has struggled to get his footing right at Juventus. Now, let us talk about the qualities of the midfielder.<\/p>\n

Douglas Luiz anchors the midfield with a mixture of technical finesse and relentless energy. The Juventus star excels in ball retention, using his press resistance and sharp passing to dictate the tempo. His vision unlocks defences, delivering key through balls and long-range switches with precision. Luiz\u2019s versatility shines as he transitions seamlessly between defensive duties\u2014winning tackles with tenacity\u2014and attacking flair, often striking from distance. Though not dominant aerially, his low centre of gravity aids nimble movement. At 26, Luiz\u2019s maturity, set-piece mastery, and ability to spark transitions mark him as a complete modern midfielder.<\/p>\n

However, City faces tough competition from Newcastle United<\/a>, who are the favorites to sign him. They are ready to offer Sandro Tonali in a swap deal for Luiz. Any team can get the deal done in \u20ac40 million or even less.<\/p>\n

However, Luiz might reject a move to the Etihad, given that he did not have a good experience in his earlier spell with the club.
