According to<\/span> Fichajes<\/span><\/a>, Barcelona <\/span>are<\/span> one of the top clubs <\/span>that are<\/span> interested in signing Atletico Madrid star performer Julian Alvarez. <\/span>However<\/span>, a swap deal is more likely to happen <\/span>rather than an all-cash signing given the high value of the player<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Julian Alvarez is doing exceptionally well<\/span><\/strong><\/h2>\n

Julian Alvarez<\/a> joined Manchester City in the summer of 2022 from River Plate<\/a> before moving to Atletico Madrid last summer. <\/span>In just two years, he <\/span>did manage to establish himself and win<\/span> possibly everything at both the club and <\/span>the international level<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Alvarez is putting his strong foot forward this season as he has already netted 23 goals across 44 games apart from five assists. He <\/span>is averaging<\/span> 1.9 shots, 0.9 key passes, and 0.9 dribbles per game (stats via <\/span>whoscored<\/span><\/a>).<\/span><\/p>\n

The Argentine primarily plays as a striker but can also <\/span>feature<\/span> as a left winger. He is a good <\/span>carrier of the ball<\/span> with great link-up abilities.<\/span> He likes to attack directly towards the goal and is a clinical finisher around the penalty box.<\/span><\/p>\n

A swap deal is a possibility<\/span><\/strong><\/h2>\n

Barcelona\u2019s interest in Julian Alvarez is understandable <\/span>as they<\/span> need a long-term replacement for Robert Lewandowski<\/a><\/span>.<\/a> The latter<\/span> is already 36 and <\/span>is<\/span> in the twilight of his career.<\/span> Hence, the club <\/span>is<\/span> looking to solve the problem for a long <\/span>period<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n

In that sense, Alvarez could be an ideal choice given his proven abilities and high quality. He would fit <\/span>in<\/span> well in Hansi Flick\u2019s system and will surely enjoy his time. However, one needs to be aware of the high value that the player has in the market.<\/span><\/p>\n

Atletico Madrid <\/span>brought<\/span> him from the English champions for <\/span>a deal worth<\/span> around \u20ac95 million.
