Aston Villa welcomed Nottingham Forest at Villa Park earlier this evening as they focused on securing a convincing win in front of their home fans. The Villans made a quick start to the game and got their noses ahead in the 13th minute when Morgan Rogers got his name on the scoresheet. Donyell Malen doubled the home side\u2019s advantage just a couple of minutes. Unai Emery\u2019s men were dominant in the first half and went into the half-time break 2-0 up on the scoreline.<\/p>\n

Jota Silva got a goal back for the visitors in the 57th minute but the Villans hung on to their narrow advantage and earned a solid 2-1 win at Villa Park.<\/p>\n

Let\u2019s take a look at how each Aston Villa<\/a> player performed during the match against Nottingham Forest.<\/p>\n

GK: Emiliano Martinez \u2013 6.5\/10<\/strong><\/p>\n

He made two crucial saves at the back and did enough to limit the opposition to just one goal.<\/p>\n

RB: Andres Garcia \u2013 7\/10<\/strong><\/p>\n

Garcia earned possession back twice and made one good chance going forward.<\/p>\n

CB: Axel Disasi \u2013 7\/10<\/strong><\/p>\n

He was solid when defending inside his half and was accurate with his passing.<\/p>\n

CB: Tyrone Mings \u2013 6.5\/10<\/strong><\/p>\n

Mings cleared the danger when needed and won one aerial duel.<\/p>\n

He caught the eye at both ends of the field and has got an assist to show for his efforts.<\/p>\n

CM: Amadou Onana \u2013 6.5\/10<\/strong><\/p>\n

Onana offered decent protection for his teammates at the back and was replaced in the 61st minute.<\/p>\n

CM: Youri Tielemans \u2013 7.5\/10<\/strong><\/p>\n

He was a real menace in the Nottingham half and did well to secure an assist.<\/p>\n

RW: Donyell Malen \u2013 7\/10<\/strong><\/p>\n

Malen found the back of the net in the 15th minute to double his team\u2019s advantage. He was subbed after the hour mark.<\/p>\n

CAM: Marco Asensio \u2013 6.5\/10<\/strong><\/p>\n

He was not shy of having a strike at goal.<\/p>\n

LW: Morgan Rogers \u2013 7.5\/10<\/strong><\/p>\n

Rogers created a lot of chaos on the left flank and did well to score in the 13th minute.<\/p>\n

He was quiet for most of his time on the field.<\/p>\n
