Manchester United welcomed Olympique Lyonnais at Old Trafford earlier tonight as they looked to secure a win and progress into the semifinals of the UEFA Europa League. The Red Devils made a good start to the game and scored the opening goal in the tenth minute thanks to Manuel Ugarte\u2019s effort. Diogo Dalot doubled Man United\u2019s advantage in the first half injury time as Ruben Amorim\u2019s men went into the half-time break 2-0 up on the scoreline.<\/p>\n

Corentin Tolisso got a goal back for the French side in the 71st minute before Nicolas Tagliafico equalised for them just six minutes later. Tolisso was sent off by the referee in the 89th minute as the match finished 2-2 after the full-time whistle.<\/p>\n

Rayan Cherki gave Lyon the lead in the 104th minute before Alexandre Lacazette added another goal from the penalty spot in the 109th minute. However, Man United came roaring back thanks to Bruno Fernandes\u2019 penalty just five minutes later. Kobbie Mainoo scored a dramatic equaliser in the 120th minute before Harry Maguire completed the turnaround with a winning header just a minute later.<\/p>\n

The contest finished 5-4 in favour of Man United after extra-time. The Red Devils ended up securing qualification after winning the tie 7-6 on aggregate.<\/p>\n

Let\u2019s take a look at how each Manchester United<\/a> player performed during the match against Lyon.<\/p>\n

GK: Andre Onana \u2013 6.5\/10<\/strong><\/p>\n

Onana made his fair share of saves but won\u2019t be happy after conceding four goals in 120 minutes.<\/p>\n

CB: Noussair Mazraoui \u2013 7\/10<\/strong><\/p>\n

He was solid at the back and was accurate with his passing.<\/p>\n

CB: Harry Maguire \u2013 8\/10<\/strong><\/p>\n

Maguire put his foot through the ball when he could and ended the game with a goal and an assist to his name.<\/p>\n

CB: Leny Yoro \u2013 6.5\/10<\/strong><\/p>\n

He did his best to keep the Lyon attackers quiet but was far from convincing when defending inside his half.<\/p>\n

RW: Diogo Dalot \u2013 8\/10<\/strong><\/p>\n

Dalot was a positive influence on both halves.<\/p>\n

CM: Casemiro \u2013 9\/10<\/strong><\/p>\n

He anchored the midfield with conviction and gave a good account of himself in the Lyon half. Casemiro has got two assists to show for his efforts.<\/p>\n

CM: Manuel Ugarte \u2013 8\/10<\/strong><\/p>\n

Ugarte opened the goal-scoring in the tenth minute and made a few important interceptions at the centre of the park.<\/p>\n

LW: Patrick Dorgu \u2013 6.5\/10<\/strong><\/p>\n

He got stuck in with some crunching tackles but offered very little in the final third.<\/p>\n

RAM: Bruno Fernandes \u2013 7.5\/10<\/strong><\/p>\n

Fernandes caused a lot of headaches for the opposition defenders and scored the decisive penalty in extra time.<\/p>\n

LAM: Alejandro Garnacho \u2013 7.5\/10<\/strong><\/p>\n

He was a constant menace in the final third and has got an assist to his name.<\/p>\n

ST: Rasmus Hojlund \u2013 6.5\/10<\/strong><\/p>\n

Hojlund made a few inviting chances for others around him.<\/p>\n

LB: Luke Shaw \u2013 5.5\/10<\/strong><\/p>\n

He gave away a cheap penalty in extra time.<\/p>\n

CM: Kobbie Mainoo \u2013 7\/10<\/strong><\/p>\n

Mainoo scored a late equaliser with a great finish.<\/p>\n

He added some energy to Amorim\u2019s midfield.<\/p>\n
