In a recent edition of GIVEMESPORT<\/a>\u2018s Market Madness podcast, respected journalist Fabrizio Romano stated that Liverpool are among the clubs hoping to land Bournemouth<\/a> ace Dean Huijsen. Romano said,<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m hearing that internally at Real Madrid, they have still not decided whether they want to sign a centre-back or not in the summer, how much they want to spend. They have Raul Asencio at the club who is doing very well. So that\u2019s why Real Madrid are not so convinced, not about Huijsen, but about signing a new centre-back in the summer. And this is why the timing is helping the English clubs. So Liverpool will be there, Arsenal will be there, Chelsea will be there. The release clause is \u00a350m, so the negotiation is on player side, basically. And I\u2019m sure that all these three clubs will push and push again in the next days, weeks, to try reach an agreement with Dean Huijsen and his camp.\u201d<\/p>\n

Huijsen\u2019s Impressive Season In The Premier League<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The Spanish talent has been a rock at the back for the Cherries during this campaign after putting in a run of solid displays at the heart of their backline. Huijsen has featured in 31 matches for Bournemouth this season, scoring two goals and grabbing one assist in all competitions.<\/p>\n

The 20-year-old has been a dominant presence when defending inside his half as he is averaging 1.2 tackles, 1.8 interceptions and 5.9 clearances per game in the Premier League. He has even distributed the ball relatively well based on his pass success rate of 84.8% in league football (stats via whoscored<\/a>).<\/p>\n

Will Huijsen Be A Good Choice For Liverpool Boss Arne Slot?<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Huijsen is a solid tackler of the ball and can time his challenges well to make a few timely interceptions inside his half. He usually clears his lines when the opposition are on the offensive.<\/p>\n

Standing at 1.97m, the Spanish sensation can use his strong frame to dominate the opposition attackers in the air. He has already got some Premier League<\/a> experience under his belt and won\u2019t take much time to settle into life at Liverpool.<\/p>\n

His current contract at Bournemouth will expire in 2030 which would make it tough for the Reds<\/a> to sign him on the cheap this summer.<\/p>\n

Still, there is no denying that Huijsen would add more bite and steel to Arne Slot\u2019s defence. He is good enough to increase competition for places within the Merseyside club\u2019s squad.
