Chelsea have made massive improvements under Enzo Marseca this season, and they are now competing for a Champions League spot next season. The Blues will be looking to strengthen their squad next summer if they are playing in UCL, to try to compete for both the Premier League and the Champions League. One of the areas that they might be looking to address is the goalkeeping spot.<\/p>\n

Chelsea Have Offered \u20ac55 Million For Gregor Kobel<\/strong><\/h3>\n

A quality goalkeeper will provide them with a lot of impetus to make a move for winning titles. Fichajes<\/a> has reported that they have made an offer of \u20ac55 million to sign Gregor Kobel from Borussia Dortmund in the summer. The 27-year-old has been in superb form and is one of the best goalkeepers in the world on recent form.<\/p>\n

Robert Sanchez has not been performing that great of late, and hence the Blues are targeting a quality goalkeeper. Kobel is definitely a very good option. Dortmund might not be qualifying for the Champions League, and if the Blues qualify for the UCL, then that can be a tantalizing prospect for a player who is at the peak of his powers. The Bundesliga club should not have any issues with the \u20ac55 million offer that Chelsea are making.<\/p>\n

Kobel has conceded 40 goals and kept five clean sheets<\/a> in 29 matches in the Bundesliga 2024\/2025 season. That means when he is in goal, his team concedes a goal every 65 minutes. Kobel\u2019s per 90 minutes goals conceded stat is 1.38. In terms of raw goalkeeping, he has saved 71 of the 113 shots faced, meaning Gregor Kobel\u2019s save percentage is 62.83%.<\/p>\n

Is he a good choice?<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Gregor Kobel stands out as one of Europe\u2019s top shot-stoppers, known for his lightning-quick reflexes, sharp positioning, and excellent one-on-one instincts. He commands his area with authority, has a safe pair of hands under pressure, and shows real mental toughness in big moments. While his distribution is still a work in progress, his impressive save percentage and clean-sheet record underline just how high his ceiling is.<\/p>\n

Chelsea\u2019s reported \u20ac55 million move for Kobel feels like a risky play. There is no doubt he would be an upgrade over Robert S\u00e1nchez, but his struggles with the ball at his feet could be a poor fit for Enzo Maresca\u2019s possession-heavy style.
