In a recent report<\/a>, journalist Graeme Bailey claimed that Everton are confident about winning the race for Napoli playmaker Jesper Lindstrom this summer. It has been mentioned that the Toffees are hoping to finalise a deal to land the Danish attacker.<\/p>\n

Lindstrom\u2019s Unimpressive Season In Italian Football<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Lindstrom had a lackluster campaign at Napoli as he struggled to be productive with his performances on the offensive end of the field. The 24-year-old made 29 senior appearances for the Naples-based outfit last season in multiple competitions.<\/p>\n

The Denmark international saw most of his game time come as a substitute which explains why he averaged 0.6 shots, 0.6 key passes and 0.5 dribbles per game in Serie A. However, he has been careful when distributing the ball in the opposition half based on his pass success rate of 84.4% in the Italian top tier (stats via whoscored<\/a>).<\/p>\n

His current deal at Napoli will expire in the summer of 2028 which could make it difficult for the Toffees to snap him up on a cut-price deal later this year.<\/p>\n

Is Lindstrom A Good Option For Everton Boss Sean Dyche?<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Lindstrom is a good dribbler with the ball at his feet and can shoot the ball with venom and accuracy from long range. He has also got the eye to set up some promising chances for his teammates up top.<\/p>\n

However, the Denmark international has to find a way to improve his passing accuracy in the final third. Still, he mainly operates as an attacking midfielder or can also play as a winger on either flank if told to do so.<\/p>\n

Lindstrom would no doubt enhance the quality of Everton<\/a> head coach Sean Dyche\u2019s match-day squad in the summer. At 24, he has a lot of room for improvement and could help the Villans<\/a> compete across all fronts in the coming years.<\/p>\n

However, there are some question marks over whether Lindstrom can adapt to the physical style and high intensity of Premier League<\/a> football. Still, he would serve as a good option for the Merseyside club<\/a> to pursue in the long run as long as they can get him on a cut-price deal before the end of this transfer period.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
