In a recent report, The Daily Star<\/a> mentioned that Manchester City are keen on recruiting Newcastle United star Brono Guimaraes this summer. It has been stated that Man City are willing to give up Oscar Bobb and Rico Lewis in the race to land the Brazil international.<\/p>\n

Guimaraes\u2019 Impressive Form In Premier League Football<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Guimaraes had a decent campaign at St. James\u2019 Park after he produced a series of influential displays for the Magpies at the centre of the park. The Brazilian midfield ace did well to score seven goals and secure ten assists in 59 matches for Newcastle United last season across multiple competitions.<\/p>\n

The 25-year-old was a reliable performer in the middle of the pitch based on his average of 2.4 tackles, 0.9 interceptions, 0.5 clearances, 1.3 shots, 1.7 key passes and 1.9 dribbles per game in Premier League football. He was even accurate with his ball distribution from midfield, as evidenced by his pass success rate of 85% in the English top tier (stats via whoscored<\/a>).<\/p>\n

Guimaraes\u2019 current deal at the Tyneside club will expire in the summer of 2028 which could make it tough for Man City<\/a> to recruit him on the cheap this off-season.<\/p>\n

Should Manchester City Boss Pep Guardiola Snap Guimaraes Up This Summer?<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Guimaraes loves a tackle and can time his challenges well to secure the ball back for his side in the middle of the pitch. He doesn\u2019t mind clearing his lines when needed and can strike the ball with venom and precision from long range.<\/p>\n

The Brazil international has got the eye to play some decisive passes in the final third. He is a good dribbler with the ball as well. At the moment, Guimaraes is enjoying his football at Newcastle United and has the skill set to be a success story at the Etihad Stadium<\/a> if Pep Guardiola can find a way to bring him on board later this year.<\/p>\n
