US President Donald Trump\u2019s doctor said he was in \u201cexcellent health\u201d but has advised him to lose weight, according to a memo released by the White House after the 79-year-old underwent a routine medical check.<\/p>\n

\u201cPresident Trump remains in excellent health, demonstrating strong cardiac, pulmonary, neurological and overall physical function,\u201d said Trump\u2019s doctor, US Navy captain Sean Barbabella.<\/p>\n

The three-page memo provides an overview of Trump\u2019s physical examination and diagnostic testing conducted at Walter Reed Medical hospital near Washington on Tuesday.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, a federal judge has reopened Trump\u2019s Internal Revenue Service (IRS) suit to examine a $1.8bn settlement with the justice department.<\/p>\n

The decision by Miami judge Kathleen Williams to reopen the case \u2013 itself an unusual move, given that civil plaintiffs have broad latitude to drop complaints \u2013 was returned after a bipartisan group of 35 former federal judges urged her to look more closely<\/a> at the settlement.<\/p>\n

White House releases memo describing results of Trump\u2019s health checkup<\/h2>\n

Donald Trump<\/a> has been grappling with \u201clower leg swelling\u201d as well as \u201cbenign\u201d hand bruising but remains in excellent health, the US president\u2019s physician said in a memo released by the White House.<\/p>\n

Citing the results of a recent examination, the memo from Dr Sean Barbabella said Trump \u201cremains in excellent health, demonstrating strong cardiac, pulmonary, neurological and overall physical function\u201d.<\/p>\n

The memo, dated Tuesday and released late on Friday, asserted the president is \u201cfully fit to carry out all duties\u201d of the presidency.<\/p>\n

Judge reopens Trump\u2019s IRS suit to examine $1.8bn settlement with justice department<\/h2>\n

A federal judge has reopened Donald Trump<\/a>\u2019s $10bn case against the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), after receiving a third-party motion asserting that the $1.8 bln settlement, which lacks detail, \u201cis a product of collusion and is itself a fraud on the court\u201d.<\/p>\n

The ruling, issued by the Miami judge Kathleen Williams, revives a lawsuit brought by the president and his sons against the IRS after their personal and business tax returns were leaked by a former contractor.<\/p>\n

\u2018Dire\u2019 conditions at ICE facility severely violate human rights, lawsuit claims<\/h2>\n

The first lawsuit<\/a> relating to the largest immigration detention facility in the US was filed early on Saturday against Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE<\/a>), accusing the agency of \u201cdire\u201d conditions that severely violate the human and constitutional rights of those locked up at the camp in Texas<\/a>.<\/p>\n

A clutch of legal organizations is suing via a class-action complaint, listing four detainees as plaintiffs for themselves and on behalf of all those currently held as civil detainees at Camp East Montana or who will be held there in the future.<\/p>\n
