Elon Musk<\/a> is getting closer and closer to Donald Trump<\/a>, quite literally, with a new report that the tech billionire <\/a>is currently renting a cottage on the grounds of the president-elect\u2019s Mar-a-Lago<\/a> residence in Palm Beach, Florida.<\/p>\n

According to The New York Times<\/em><\/a>, <\/em>Musk is staying at Banyan \u2013 a cottage located just several hundred feet from the main house of the estate\u2013 which costs at least $2,000 to stay in per night, per sources with knowledge of the costs.<\/p>\n

The news comes as concerns continue to grow in Washington <\/a>about the extent of the SpaceX<\/a> boss\u2019s influence over Trump, having sat in on personnel meetings, conducted talks with foreign leaders and helped to tank a bipartisan spending bill in congress.<\/p>\n

The president-elect has boasted that the world\u2019s richest man<\/a> is \u201crenting\u201d one of the residential spaces at Mar-a-Lago.<\/p>\n

The property contains multiple cottages that have reportedly been used by others in Trump\u2019s inner circle, including Vice President-elect JD Vance<\/a>, during the transition period.<\/p>\n

The Times <\/em>reports that Musk moved into the cottage around Election Day and watched the results at Mar-a-Lago with Trump and other MAGA<\/a> cheerleaders including Marjorie Taylor Greene<\/a>.<\/p>\n

He left the property around Christmas and has been expected to return some time in the New Year.<\/p>\n

It is unclear how much the tech boss is paying for the cottage, though guests at the Mar-a-Lago club are typically not billed until the end of the stay.<\/p>\n

The \u201cbest buddy\u201d relationship between the pair appears to be going strong.<\/p>\n

Last week Trump\u00a0posted what appeared to be a personal message to Musk<\/a> on Truth Social, claiming that fellow billionaire Bill Gates asked to come to Mar-a-Lago.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhere are you? When are you coming to the \u2018Center of the Universe,\u2019 Mar-a-Lago. Bill Gates asked to come, tonight. We miss you and x! New Year\u2019s Eve is going to be AMAZING!!!\u201d Trump wrote.<\/p>\n

He signed it \u201cDJT.\u201d<\/p>\n

While staying at Mar-a-Lago, Musk has been accompanied by at least two of his children \u2014 though he is reported to have at least 11 \u2014 and their nannies.<\/p>\n
