In this DROPS video we show how to cast on from a chain row. By having a chain row at the bottom of your work you can create live loops that can be picked up afterward and be worked down, e.g. cuffs, lace borders etc.
Chain the number of sts needed and add a few extra. Turn the chain row so that you have the back side with the bumps up. Pick up sts with your working yarn through each bump. Afterward you can easily pull out the chains to unzip the sts and put them back on needle.
