Rhythms of Spring
With summer just beginning, 2013 workshops have begun and the first workshop took place in Glacier National Park from May 7th to May 15th. First off, I must say that the experience was a HUGE success and cannot wait for the next one! For people unfamiliar with these workshops, the structure is unlike most other workshops out there because you leave with a finished film. These workshops take you through the entire process of shooting a time-lapse film including story development, scheduling, scouting and much more!Rhythms of Spring was shot and edited during this workshop with one day of fine-tuning following the workshop.
For more information on this workshop, make sure to visit http://www.prestonkanak.com/2013/05/17/rhythms-of-spring-an-eight-day-time-lapse-workshop-film/

This film was shot using Kessler Gear including the Kessler Cineslider, Revolution Head, Oracle Systems, Stealth Slider, CineDrive and more. http://www.kesslercrane.com

LuxRays renderer into Softimage
Here is a small demonstration of the implementation of LuxRays renderer into Softimage.
This aims to present the code I provided on si-community (http://www.si-community.com/community/viewtopic.php?f=27&t=3205&p=26994#p26994) in the “Resourcedump” thread”.I want to warn you that this is an old version of LuxRays and an old version of the softimage plugin (2 years ago).
I stop development of this plugin 2 years ago. However luxrays has since become much more efficient today (http://www.luxrender.net/wiki/LuxRays). -

USB follow focus – focus point test with 5D Mark II
Test clip showing focus moving between four saved focus points. Development and status of the USB follow focus used in this video can be seen at http://cinema5d.com/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=19746.Test was filmed with a 5D Mark II and EF 50mm f/1.4 micro USM lens. AGC was disabled in the camera menu, and an external Azden shotgun microphone was plugged into the camera’s mic-in port. The microphone was approximately 3 inches above the lens.
On the controller the focus change command send rate was set to 14 commands per second, and the focus step size was set to medium. The combination of adjustable command send rate and step size allows the user to customize the smoothness and rate at which the focus will change. Lenses with true USM (not micro USM) also tend to be quieter and smoother.
