Welcome to part four of my ‘WordPress from scratch’ series! This 4th part covers setting up WordPress’s amazing comment system, getting your pages (pages.php) looking like the rest of your blog, setting up your dynamic highlighting nav’ and more! I’ve also provided code snippets on my blog which would of bored you all to death explaining so copy and paste them at your will. Progress has been made since the discussion started up on the Make WordPress UI blog, where a number of contributors had a say in the direction of the new design. If you would like to help out with the WordPress user interface, check that blog to find out more.
Keep in mind, the version of WordPress previewed in the video above, just like other alpha preview materials we post, should be viewed in that manner. What you see won’t necessarily end up in the next version of WordPress—it’s simply under development, and is being considered for it.

Not Just Another Theme: A Free WordPress… Theme
Since the launch of the v2 paulicio.us , a lot of people have been asking for the source code of site theme. At the time I decided the theme was not suitable for public release, as it required a fair bit of modification to core WordPress files, and other hacks, however I always intended to release a public version – for free, and have been working on that for some time now.This is a preview of “Not Just Another Theme”, a breakthrough in WordPress template design, featuring a fully functional desktop-style interface.
We’re still a little way off from the release – work like this can only really be done in my spare time – but hopefully this little taster will entice you to come back for more when the theme is released!
