When you knit stripes you can carry along the yarn not in use along the edge. This way you don’t have multiple thread ends to fasten afterward. Before each new row from RS twist the working yarn around the tread/threads not in use, and then continue.

There are many ways to join a new ball of yarn when you run out of yarn. In this DROPS video we show how to make a more or less invisible join by making a double knot. We use two different colors to make it easier to follow.
With the new yarn go under the working yarn, go over both strands and through the loop and tighten. Then repeat by taking the working yarn under the new yarn, over both strands, through loop and tighten. Then pull each yarn to tighten the double knot in the center, pull tight to secure. Cut both tails as close as possible. Keep working on your project.

Their mission is to place rescued cats and kittens into loving, permanent homes; to provide a safe, happy and healthy home for unwanted cats and kittens in a unique, no-cage facility; to prevent pet overpopulation through spaying and neutering; and to educate the public about responsible pet ownership.
Since its founding 23 years ago, The Cat House on the Kings has saved over 24,000 cats and 7,000 dogs (not counting the 40,000 animals we have spayed and neutered!) and currently cares for more than 700 cats and kittens, a dozen or so dogs and a handful of goats, who earn their keep as lawnmowers!
The Cat House is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation, receives no government or public funding, and relies entirely on donations from the public to carry out its mission.

We are knitting purl stitches according to the English method. This makes exactly the same stitch, but we do this holding the working yarn in our right hand. Lay the yarn around the needle with the right hand.
