In this DROPS video we show how to do a tubular bind off.
Our sample is a knitted cuff in K1, P1 ribbing, but it would work the same way with a piece in stockinette stitch.
First you will knit 4 rows where half the sts are worked separate, and this is done by lifting all the P sts and knitting all the K sts. Work like this for 4 rows. Then we separate the sts by putting them on one needle each.
Once that is done make sure both needles are pointing towards the end of the working yarn, which is attached to the needle in the back. Now sew or knit kitchener sts aka grafting sts to join the two sides.

In this DROPS video we show how to decrease in double crochet (dc) stitches (or sc in US terms).
When you decrease you can skip one st below, but that may create a hole. To avoid that you can crochet sts together to decrease.
Crochet 2 sts together to 1 stitch: crochet dc in following 2 sts, wait with last pull through on both sts until last one is made, then pull through all sts on hook.

This video shows first cable leaning to the right, next cable leaning to the left.
Cable leaning to the right: Knit 2nd stitch on left needle at the same time as 1st stitch is still on needle. Then knit 1st st and lift both sts off left needle.
Cable leaning to the left: Knit 2nd stitch in back loop on left needle at the same time as 1st stitch is still on needle. Then knit 1st st as normal and lift both sts off left needle.

In this DROPS video we show how you can increase and make a new stitch by picking up the loop from the stitch on previous row. You can do it after or before a stitch just as we show in the video.
Right side: put your left needle through stitch 2 rows below the stitch on the right needle. Lift it up on your left needle and knit it in the back loop.
Left side: put your right needle into the stitch under the first stitch on your left needle. Pick up the loop and put it on your left needle. Knit this new stitch in the front loop, and also knit following stitch separate as usual.
This is also a great method when you need to inc two stitches right next to each other, without having to work a stitch between them. You can knit 1, make a inc in the st below, then make an inc in the st below next st, then knit that st.
