Do not throw away old solar panels, they can last for 30 or more years (demo & more, in description)

Please read the complete description of this video. To get to the best and most complete information.

I show not (!) to discard & throwaway solar panels, after their (say standard) lifetime has expired. What is their lifetime? 20 Years or 30 Years or even 50 Years?

Please know: at the moment where we live now (30 april 2025) there is not (or a very limited) knowledge about how solar panels are (say) deteriorating in their maximum ampères range over time (= their energy out, say in terns of Watts) that they can give out, after say, 20 or more years or so.

Guarantee is/was standard 25 Years and that is completely true. But after these years the panels can surely serve out their energy for another 25 years, thus, in total: 50 years.

My experience: after say 20 years of using this solar panel (made for 4 Volts and say 100 mA out) is still intact and working OK.

And (much more important !!): the 10 solar panels on my shed in my garden also work properly after say more than 20 or more Years.

They were installed in (say) the year 2000 (better: the 1990’s) and still now in 2025 giving me 10 X 180 Watt in bright and clear sunlight, = 1.8 KiloWatt/hour when the sun shines bright.

These solar panels are thus very old and still work OK. In one panel some separate Si-panels shows a few cracks, but they still work on.

So the idea of this video is: rely on your (DC) solar panels. And (not advised) a “”home battery”.

When you want to throw away your money: OK & no problem. 5 or 10 KwH (kilowatt-hour) in a home battery is not much for a normal household!

They (home DC batteries) come (in general) with an enormous price.

When you do a serious calculation, bringing everything down to the price of 1 (one) KiloWatt hour, on the location where you live on earth, its latitude, its sunlight during the year, etc.

In general that makes no sense, apart from the enormous environmental issues that come with home batteries, car batteries, say Tesla, or BDY cars from China, etc.

Our Governments have to guarantee our household electrical energy. We do not need home batteries, say to save a few KiloWatt Hour. It makes no sense.

Type there the keywords that you like (e.g. radio/audio/amplifiers/test/filter/) in the “looking glass” = search function” and give “enter”. Via that you can find specific video’s (under the say 1500 published). When you search, search always “NEWEST FIRST” to get the right overview.

You can also search via the “looking glass” on my Channel trailer via keywords like ”audio”, “radio”, “amplifier”, “filter”, “Shortwave”, “transistor”, “FET”, “oscillator”, “generator”, “switch”, “schmitt trigger” etc; so the electronic subject you are interested in.

My books about electronics & analog radio technology are available via the website of “LULU”, search for author “Ko Tilman” there. Or https://www.lulu.com/search?adult_aud..=&page=1&pageSize=10&adult_audience_rating=00&sortBy=RELEVANCE&q=Ko+Tilman />
I keep all my YT videos constant actual. Search on YT and avoid my circuits that are republished, re-arranged, re-edited on other websites, giving not probable re-wiring, etc. I take distance from all kinds of fake claims, made via republishing on www.

NB: the advertisements showed when you look at my video’s in general don’t have anything to do with the content of my YT videos. When you see advertisements for certain electronic or electrical things, I do not support them, because I could not test them. Especially: do not fall into the trap of “home batteries” advertisements, telling off-grid stories. Calculate it (!).
