Welcome back to Never Too Old!
In this video, I take you step-by-step through installing my solar panel isolator switch, wiring up MC4 connectors, fitting the MPPT solar charge controller, and connecting everything safely to the breaker and batteries in my campervan.
It wasn’t all smooth sailing—there were plenty of challenges (and mistakes!) along the way with crimping, wire stripping, and even cutting holes in the board. But that’s van life and DIY electrics for you—lots of learning as you go.
After a lot of trial and error, the solar setup is finally complete, connected, and producing power. Even if it’s only a couple of watts on a cloudy evening, the important part is: it works! ☀️🔋
If you’re doing your own van conversion solar installation or just want to see the process of wiring a solar isolator switch, MPPT charge controller, and breaker setup, this video will walk you through it.
