Indian Railways has taken a historic first step toward green transport by installing removable solar panels directly on railway tracks at Banaras Locomotive Works (BLW), Varanasi ๐Ÿš†โ˜€๏ธ

This pilot project aims to generate clean electricity without using extra land by utilizing the space between railway tracks. The solar panels are fixed using strong industrial adhesive and rubber pads to handle train vibrations and can be easily removed during track maintenance.

While Indian Railways calls it a move toward sustainable and net-zero transportation, many people have raised safety and practicality concerns, such as vibrations, accidents, frequent track repairs, and the risk of damage or short circuits.

Is this a revolutionary green innovation or just an experimental idea?
