Why do solar panels shatter? SMA 3501 error! Is it the  shattered Trina solar panel  at fault?

This job was an interesting one I thought the 3501 error on this SMA tri power was going to be a faulty inverter but it turns out to be a legitimate earth isolation error on the solar array. I have a look at the shattered solar panel and explore what could have caused it.
