I’m rebuilding our Solar Shed as a true off-grid workhorse and wanted to prove you can get big power without a big budget. In this video I walk through the full install of a ~6 kW array using 14 used 410 W panels I picked up for about $2,000 total. I’ll show how I sourced the panels, laid out and mounted the racking on a low-slope roof, wired the strings, and tied everything into an off-grid inverter/battery so it can run a yard office (and scale to a cabin or small home).

My goal with Solar Shed 2.0 is simple: share a practical path for DIYers who want reliable off-grid power at a price that makes sense—no mystery, no hype. You’ll see what worked, what I’d change, and how far ~6 kW really goes.
