Powerwall 3 installation with solar panels. Tesla Powerwall 3.

Our 13.5kWh Tesla Powerwall 3 and 27 solar panels have just been commissioned by Paul Davies of Lectogic. I ask Paul to take us round and explain what he has done. It is lovely to see our first day of solar and off grid.

How Powerwall Works is a useful resource, for those setting out https://www.tesla.com/en_gb/support/energy/powerwall/learn/how-powerwall-works

We took a long time working out what to do. One of the big advantages we had, was that my brother Hugh, who you will see on this channel, had already undergone this exercise and I could tap in to his knowledge. I tried to find alternate battery systems to Tesla for comparison. But singularly failed. I failed to find an alternative that could give me the Emergency Power Supply (EPS) protection, in other words when the grid goes down, we don’t notice, in that the battery and system switches automatically without any loss of power tripping the computers etc.

I must have obtained over twenty quotations, no the system I could find goes quite what the Tesla Powerwall 3 gives me. The installation consists of a Tesla Powerwall 3 and twenty seven 450w peak power out put solar panels with the option to add a Tesla DC battery which we will be doing as soon as they are delivered. Interestingly the two most competitive quotes were from Tesla Powerwall 3 installers. The price ranged from £27,000 to £16,500.

I am predicting we will eliminate all our house hold power bills plus 10,000 miles of car power and should even create a small surplus by exporting to Octopus. IF you decide to join Octopus you can get £50 in your account and so can I by using this refence code. I don’t think the £50 is available unless you are referred, not that I can see anyway. Here is the code if you should like to use it https://share.octopus.energy/loved-plum-982

Lectogic are based in South Wales and will head over the border in to Herefordshire and Bristol areas too. We were extremely impressed by their whole operation. Email: paul.davies@lectogic.co.uk

Lectogic ‘sWeb site (which we don’t believe does them justice as they are such a personable company. The web site is a bit harsh – not sure if that is the right words): www.lectogic.co.uk
