My 1-unit solar panel setup was residing in the backyard when hail hit yesterday. I was not planning to perform an impact test of this solar panel but I’m glad I had it outside to weather the storm! In 2024 I used this one unit to gather data for the solar energy performance, and then I left the panel outside through the winter.
The takeaway: using my “value vision” let’s me see the value of an unexpected scientific trial. After we had a strong hail storm here in Texas, I went out to see how the solar panel survived. Unpredictable moments can become rare & valuable testing scenarios if we go ahead and take the first steps in a project before everything is ready.
