This week, we’re diving into one of those truly satisfying projects—something we can start and finish in one go, and one that’ll make a real difference in our day-to-day life. We’re expanding our solar setup with the Anker SOLIX Solarbank 3 Pro, a powerful battery system paired with eight additional solar panels.
We already had a setup with 10 solar panels temporarily installed in our field, and two batteries with a combined capacity of 10 kWh. It’s been helping us lower our electricity bills and provides backup power if the grid ever goes down—assuming the sun is shining and the batteries are charged, of course!
With the new Anker system, we’re nearly doubling our power capacity. On sunny days, we can now run completely on solar power—day and night—which has been one of our goals for a long time, so we’re thrilled about this upgrade.
We also wanted to explain how solar energy works and how we’ve managed to integrate two systems into one. To help make sense of it all, I’ve created a diagram to support Philippe’s explanation in the video.
On top of that, we’re giving you a little update on how the newly planted fruit trees are doing, what we’ve added to protect them—and of course, how the chickens are coping with their expanded flock. Let’s just say… they always give us something to talk about!
