Under the Prime Minister’s Surya Ghar initiative, Goan households will receive free rooftop solar panels, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant announced. The installation will be carried out by designated contractors, who will also be responsible for maintenance of the solar systems for the next ten years.
A special awareness campaign has been launched across the state to promote the use of solar energy among Goans. Union Minister of State Shripad Naik was present at the awareness drive, which highlighted the benefits of clean and sustainable energy.
The government aims to make Goa a model for solar energy adoption and reduce dependency on conventional power sources through this initiative.
