We received some great comments and feedback but the obvious question was \u201chave you tested these panels?\u201d  I decided to do a comparison test of the Hyperion 400 watt panels against some SEG 405 watt panels I\u2019ve been using for over year. The SEG panels have very similar voltage and wattage to the Hyperion panels and they have produced full rated power in the past. My thought was that comparing the Hyperion panel to the SEG panel would illustrate any large performance gaps between the two panels, under the same seasonal and daylight conditions. I mounted six of each panel into the three Brightmount racks I recently installed. Then I wired each six panel array into my EG4 6000xp inverter, one to each MPPT input. I then recorded hourly readings through the day.  Again, this testing was done at the worst time of the year for solar, however, since all panels were mounted and set similarly, the results should be comparable. <\/p>\n<p>Overall, I think the results showed a very similar performance level between the panels. I don\u2019t think the differences noted would be more significant in a different season, although both panels would likely perform better.
