Infinity’ is an immersive environment project by Refik Anadol. Project is an integral part of artist’s ongoing ‘Temporary Immersive Environment Experiments’ which is a research on audio/visual installations by using the state called immersion which is the state of consciousness where an immersant’s awareness of physical self is transformed by being surrounded in an engrossing environment; often artificial, creating a perception of presence in a non-physical world.
In this project ‘infinity’ chosen as a concept,a radical effort to deconstruct the framework of this illusory space and transgress the normal boundaries of the viewing experience to set out to transform the conventional flat cinema projection screen into a three dimensional kinetic and architectonic space of visualisation by using contemporary algorithms.
Light is the major element in the experiment, used to blur and interconnect the boundaries between the two realms actual/fictional and physical/virtual. It signifies the threshold between the simulacrum space created by the projection technology, and the physical space where the viewer stands. The experiments will discuss the inherent spatial qualities of immersive virtual environments and their effect on the embodied person. Through the presented framework, the experiments intends to question the relativity of perception and how it informs the apprehension of our surroundings. Rather than approaching the medium as a means of escape into some disembodied techno-utopian fantasy, projects sees itself as a means of return, i.e. facilitating a temporary release from our habitual perceptions and culturally biased assumptions about being in the world, to enable us, however momentarily, to perceive ourselves and the world around us freshly.
Room size: 4M x 4M x 4M
Medium: Four channel Audio/Visual Installation running on custom software. (Original experience: 14 Minutes, 7 algorithms.)

In this DROPS video we show how to crochet bobbles (also known as popcorn stitch).
Alt 1: Crochet 4 dc (UK tr) (or what pattern calls for) in 1 stitch, but wait with last pulling through on each st until there are 5 sts on hook. Now pull through all 5 sts (i.e. the 4 dc are crochet tog to 1 dc). Continue with 1 st in each st until next bobble.
Alt 2 (larger): Crochet 4 dc (UK tr) (or what pattern calls for) in 1 stitch. Take the hook out from the loop on last st, stick hook through 1st st and then back through loop on 4th st, pick up yarn and pull through both sts. Continue with 1 st in each st until next bobble.

In this DROPS video we show how you can increase with a loop (aka M1 = make one). This increase will make a little hole.
In the video we show twice how you make a loop on right needle with the working thread away from you. You can make the increased stitch lean in different directions.
If you want the inc stitch to lean to the left you make a loop on right needle with the working thread towards you.

In this DROPS video we show how to make a Russian join.
This makes a strong and invisible join and is the perfect option for any kind of fiber where felting is not an option, i.e. cotton, acrylic, etc. Make sure to sew in the middle of the strand.

This short film was shot during May and June of 2013 in Iceland. The trip was how I celebrated my college graduation and my one year anniversary of buying a camera. I lived in my car for four weeks, driving as it rained and shooting when the weather permitted. Almost all of the shots were taken between 10:30pm and 4:30am as the Midnight Sun glowed golden and pink. In total, I shot roughly 40k pictures and drove about 3000 miles. Iceland is a breathtaking country and there were so many places I failed to capture but remain a humbling part of my trip.
“There is something about doing this sort of stuff that just makes you want to keep coming back for more and more. Maybe it’s the experience of being out there at one with the incredible beauty of this landscape. Maybe it’s the challenge of capturing it in the camera in the way that you witnessed it. Maybe it’s the excitement of seeing just what you got when you finally render it all out. Maybe it’s the satisfaction you get out of showing this to other people. Most probably it’s a combination of all these things.” -Bevan Percival
Spoiler Alert! Check the next plugin idea that I am building! On what plugin am I working right now? Details in the video!
Hint: It is a huge project, that I had in mind for a while now. It will be able to set up your WordPress site from scratch (or reset it) in about 5 to 10 minutes. The idea of it came from the “installer wizards” of Windows applications!
When the plugin will be ready, I will make an update video on it! Stay tuned!
